Sunday Visitors/Greeters

Chaired by Denise Potvin, welcome visitors to Holy Comforter and provide newcomers with information and welcoming gifts.

Altar Guild, headed by Dawn Lynch, is responsible for caring for the altar, vestments, vessels, and altar linens of the parish. Altar Guild members prepare the sanctuary for services and frequently supervise the decoration of the sanctuary.

Flower Guild, under the leadership of Anne Wells, schedules and arranges the flowers used in the sanctuary. Parishoners may provide flowers in memory or thanksgiving of a loved one, or to mark a special occasion. 

Chancel & Folk Choirs The Chancel Choir sings on the first and third Sundays of the month, and at special services. Members rehearse weekly on Wednesday nights at 7:00. The director is Olivia Ahyoung.

The Contemporary Folk Choir sings on the second and fourth Sundays of the month. Members practice at 9:15 on Sunday mornings and at other times as called. The director is Betsy Gray.

Ushers The ushers greet people as they enter the church and provide other assistance during the service. The chairman is Tom Keller.

Lectors Members of the congregation read the appointed lessons and psalms and lead the Prayers of the People. The leader is Bonnie McHugh.

Acolytes are young people and adults trained to assist at the altar and in processions. The leader is Bonnie McHugh.

Eucharistic Ministers are lay persons, licensed by the Bishop to share the sacrament with members of the congregation who are unable to be present at services because of illness or infirmity.

Chalice Bearers are lay persons, licensed by the Bishop to assist the clergy in administering the consecrated bread and wine at the altar.

Banners are made and hung in the sanctuary to celebrate special occasions. Jane Robinson serves as the chairperson.
